About
You and Your Teen is a self-paced online parenting course designed to rebuild mutual respect and encourage open, honest communication between you and your teenager. Whether you’re dealing with eye-rolling, shut-down conversations, or ongoing power struggles, this course guides you step by step towards calmer, more respectful interactions. You’ll learn practical skills to listen without lecturing, set clear boundaries without shouting, and express your needs in ways your teen can hear and respond to. At the same time, your teen is gently invited into simple exercises that help them express their thoughts, take responsibility for their behaviour, and understand the impact of their words and actions at home. Each module includes short lessons, real-life examples, and reflection prompts that you can complete at your own pace. You’ll practise new communication tools, try guided conversations together, and build shared agreements that help reduce conflict and increase cooperation. Grounded in an understanding of teenage brain development, this course focuses on what you can both do differently from today to strengthen connection, manage conflict more calmly, and create a home where everyone feels heard, respected, and understood. Please note: This course is for educational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional medical, psychological, or therapeutic advice. Every family is unique, and if you have concerns about your teen’s wellbeing or behaviour, it is important to seek support from a qualified professional.
